Yugoslavia at ww2 had the highest partisan activity along with Russia.... there were so many Partizans that Nazis used croats to keep the partisans busy i think the croatian organizetion was called ustska correct me if im wrong!

I was told that the coastline around Croatia in the adriatic is some of the most beautiful in the world, comparable to Mexico's Cancun. is this true backtothegrave? how often do you see the sea? I live in the middle of the continent, so I've only seen one ocean, and that was the Atlantic in Florida and in New England.

well, i've been to croatia last august... i rent a house in a town in dalmatia (the coastal region of croati) yes, it was really a beautiful place, real nice beaches (but with rocks, while in italy we have mostly sand), wonderful girls, and good food.
in italy i live 30 km from the sea, so i often go to the seaside, even if i prefer the mountains (which are 50 km away...)
after all italy is so narrow that you have everything interesting near your home (the sea, the mountains, historical cities....) really a good thing!!!
